You Can’t Have the Good Without Understanding the Bad
If you’re like me, you like to focus on the good news. In fact, if I’m really honest, sometimes I struggle with sharing bad news with people. However, it is often impossible to comprehend or rejoice in good news if you don’t understand the bad news. John 3:16 -18 is the GOOD NEWS– “For God loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God.” (HCSB)
God does not speak of His amazing grace without also acknowledging the consequences of rejecting His gift. God speaks even more clearly in Revelation 20:14-15 “Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And anyone not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire.” (HCSB)
To be a faithful as witnesses of God’s amazing grace and love–we must not fail to share the whole story. We must share bad news–those who reject Christ spend eternity in hell. Not because God hates them but because they chose to hate God.
