3 Truths from Philippians 1

Philippians 1:3-6 says “I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. I am sure of this, that He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

I often use this passage just before my signature to close e-mails or letters. It reminds me of three important truths in the Christian life:

1) An attitude of gratitude is essential for Christian joy. Being genuinely thankful is the mark of a healthy believer and transcends our circumstance. Thankfulness is a choice!
2) The Great Commission is a partnership. No individual believer or local church accomplishes it alone. Everyone has a role and responsibility in sharing the gospel with our neighborhoods and the nations. We must encourage one another in the work.
3) God isn’t finished with us yet. We are all works in progress and God always finishes His work! The best is yet to come.

I give Thanks for the partnership in the gospel that is Concord Baptist Association and the fact that God is still at work in all of us.
